How to personalise your destination wedding

Nothing excites us more than a big fat Asian wedding abroad. Whether your wedding is taking place on the exotic beaches of Bali, the picturesque mountains of Italy or the regal palaces of Jaipur, you can use a range of themed stationery to add a bit of extra oomph to your celebrations.

More and more couples are choosing to get married abroad because let’s face it, not only is it a great way for them to get some guaranteed sunshine on their big day (hooray), but it’s a way for them to offer their guests a truly unique and fun experience. Believe it or not, this memorable experience is carefully crafted from the moment they send out their save-the-date or invitation cards. So, if you’re looking for a few imaginative ways to personalise your destination wedding – then this post is for you!

Pocket-Fold Invitation

  1. First impressions

We’ve designed cards with a Safari theme for a couple getting married in Kenya and a New York theme for a couple getting married in the Big Apple. Our point is, you can take any destination in the world and come up with a creative theme for your invites. If you want something more generic; paper airplanes, post cards and boarding passes have all been incorporated too. Your card is the first look into your big day, so make it special.

  1. Handy hampers

In-room hampers are a great little treat for guests staying at your hotel. Items like personalised chocolate bars, cookie or jam jars and juice boxes will go down exceptionally well. You don’t have to go over board with the personalisation – sometimes it only takes one or two items to leave a lasting impression.

  1. Door décor

If you travel often you’ll know that most hotels have a door sign for their guests to let staff know when it’s safe to enter and clean the room and when it’s best to leave them alone. Why not create a bespoke ‘do not disturb’ sign for your guests. It could have the bride and groom’s name, the guests’ names or even be in two different colours to represent each wedding party. Your guests are sure to be impressed with such a high level of detailing.

  1. Travel guides

For many of your guests, it could be the first time they are visiting a particular country or area. Not only would they appreciate an in-room itinerary outlining which events are taking place on each day of their stay, but they could also use a useful contacts guide featuring a list of nearby amenities, details of any potential tour operators and emergency services just in case. You can get as detailed as you like – maybe even telling them how much they should expect to pay for a taxi into the city.

  1. Memorable keepsakes

It’s nice to provide your guests with a keepsake regardless of whether your wedding is taking place abroad or not, however if they’ve travelled thousands of miles to be part of your big day, it’s especially nice to show them how much you appreciate their presence. To keep in-sync with the travel theme you could provide your guests with some keepsake personalised luggage tags or even leave a nice personalised thank you card in their rooms.

Of course the list could go on and on – we tend to get a little carried away when we have our creative hats on. If you’d like to have a chat about how to personalise your dream destination wedding then feel free to contact a member of our team at info@rickydicky.co.uk
